I have Installed Q4OS on my desktop computer. During the booting, initially the log screen appears as usual, but later the display turns black. Any keyboard input does not work. When I press the shutdown button, the log screen appears again, and it is shutting down. Booting the older kernel does not help. When I start the recovery mode, I can log in with my password, but I do not know, what to do next. We have a very big screen, so it is hard to see the tiny characters, if they are in the left upper corner.

Did you ever use a secondary screen? If so connect it again and see what happens.

My computer has two HDMI ports which usually show different screens.
But in this case they are both black.

Are you able to boot and install from the Debian live ? "debian-live-13.1.0-amd64-kde.iso" , download https://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/cu … so-hybrid/
Offline
I already installed from the Q4OS live. Should I rather install from the Debian live?
Offline
Do we understand correctly that the Q4OS installation is unusable ? If so, the alternative is to install from Debian live. Please post the result back for us to get a feedback for possible fix.

Is there a opportunity, that I first install Debian and then upgrade it to QSO4?
Offline
Yes, install Debian and follow instructions https://www.q4os.org/dqa017.html

I will try to Install Quarkos Noble Plasma live instead. Because it is inside the Q4OS Imager and I had not problems with Ubuntu before.
Offline
Yes, it's the fine way too.

I tried the Quarkos live but could not boot it. Then I successfully installed de Ian. Which is now the easiest way to switch to q4os?
Offline
I started the steps of https://www.q4os.org/dqa017.html
Then the script said everything is installed and I should reboot.
When I reboot I am in the former Debian again.

Shall I succeed with following?
$ sudo qrepoadd mx-tools
$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt install q4os-mxtools-plasma
or
$ sudo apt install q4os-mxtools-trinity

No, this method has a bug what is going to be fixed. We recommend you to use the preferred method using the .qsi installer, see https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3477

The links to the website aren't very clear for me.
Should I download this one?
setup_q4os-mxtools-plasma_5.3-a1.qsi
Offline
Yes, use setup_q4os-mxtools-plasma_<version>.qsi for Plasma or setup_q4os-mxtools-trinity_<version>.qsi for Trinity desktop. Download from here https://sourceforge.net/projects/q4os/f … ntal_apps/
