[SOLVED] Login

Hiyall,
I'm back after a break. I installed Q4OS full 32bit on an old Netbook. It took 3+hours! Is that normal?
I am now at the login window. Left part says 'Admin Q4OS / adminq'.
The right hand side asks for my username & password which I entered but it wouldn't allow me in.

What do I enter?

Please run inxi -Fxxx in a terminal and post back the result.

Use (one of) the matching pair username / password you have created during the install process (you certainly was asked to type the password twice). Nothing else exists.
That said, since you see  'Admin Q4OS / adminq', I'm wondering if you really installed Q4OS or if you are just running a live version (which is indeed very slow compared to booting an installed version); in this case the default password for adminq is empty (see here).

How do I send an inxi if I can't arrive at desktop?

Re: [SOLVED] Login

adminq and empty password didn't work either!

Re: [SOLVED] Login

Of course...
For the password, you can boot from a live media and reset the user password (provided you didn't choose to encrypt your HD). Long to describe here, but many tutorials exist on the web. In short: edit /etc/shadow on the installed drive to empty the password field for your username; the next time you'll be asked your password leave it empty.
Simpler solution: reinstall.

Re: [SOLVED] Login

I installed it. It still took 3-4 hours! I ask again, is that normal? I think I forgot to enter my 'complete name'. If so, why did the OS allow me to go further?

Optional parameter. The user is free to enter whatever he wants, or leave blank. You may consider it as a kind of comment to the user name.
