I installed Q4OS 3.12 Trinity - 32 bits on a 32 bits computer. Motherboard is ECS M810D with included AMD Duron processor,
1 GB DDR Ram, SIS chipset with integrated graphics, NO separate graphics card slot, 80 GB hard disk. It is a clean install, no
other OS, only one 80 GB partition.
Install is from CD. Downloaded ISO simply burned to CD. Install went as it should, at the end CD removed from CD drive and
computer boots. Up the screen there is some message about "ramdisk" then error messages about some hardware "timing"
and finally a prompt saying "btransfs" or about that.
I then tried to install 2 other "old computer" distros (not Q4OS) and they failed but with other errors.
I also tried to install on another 32 bits computer, this time with a ECS SOM+ motherboard (same features as M810D)
and it failed exactly the same as M810D.
Finally, for validation, I installed Windows XP on M810D with a perfect result, the desktop booted from the hard disk.
So that computer works fine after all !!!
Regarding 64 bits, I installed Q4OS 64 bits on a 64 bits computer and it worked 100 % the first time.
What is happening here ?

Your motherboard is really old. It may be incompatible with Q4OS Centaurus, which is based on Debian Buster. Debian Buster was released at 2019, so it is a new distro.
Please try older Q4OS Scorpion, Trinity, install-cd - 64bit / x64.
It is based on Debian Stretch. Debian Stretch has 4.9 Linux Kernel, which works better on old computers than 4.19 in Buster. Of course, Q4OS Scorpion also has 4.9 Linux Kernel.

Before asking for help please read this topic: https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3502 If you have problems with WiFi network, try to install the Network Manager using Q4OS Software Centre.

Please try older Q4OS Scorpion, Trinity, install-cd - 64bit / x64.
The above link takes you to the correct page. However, be sure to select
Q4OS Scorpion, Trinity, install-cd - 32bit / i386.
And if that doesn't work, I finally got Q4OS Orion 32-bit installation sorted out a few months ago, so be sure to read closely:
https://q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3043
Once again, keep in mind that Orion is no longer supported, so use at your own risk. Also, some of the download locations may have changed.

Hi, here is 2 photos from the computer screen when it failed to boot.
Computer motherboard is ECS M810D with integrated AMD Duron 32 bits processor, 1 GB DDR Ram, integrated video and LAN, *no* AGP graphics card slot.
Both these iso have been tested with exactly the same result /failure to boot as shown:
- Q4OS Centaurus 3.12, Trinity, install-cd - 32bit / i386
- Q4OS Scorpion 2.7, Trinity, install-cd - 32bit / i386
N.B. Q4OS Centaurus 3.12, Trinity installed successfully on AMD64 computer
Before final booting, install steps went fairly well but it was command line stuff, for some reason no graphical install.

WinXP did a decent job of supporting some sis chipsets but Linux recently doesnt support sis chipsets very well, particularly older ones such as your socket A mobo. Even with WinXP I had a lot of issues in the old days getting things to workwith sis based boards. The graphics drivers were the most problematic. ECS /PCChips also had a lot of bios issues which caused additional problems.
Is this an older system you want to keep running as a project? Your system is around 20 years old so its going to be tough to keep it running with Linux. Duron was released in 2000 and the board around 2001.

Hi, thanks for your comments. These ECS M810D and SOM+ computers are my Internet only computers, no gaming, no video, YouTube or whatever. Here and there some mp4 that I receive on email. They are always powered on (now about 10 years) with no problems, UPS batteries are used but sometimes the power failure is too long. Antix 17.4.1 is installed on both and recently I wanted to install 19.3 but no success. Now I want to change to Q4OS and very soon I will (try to) install it on a Athlon XP processor with NVidia chipset and a real ATI video card. We shall see.
About year 2005 I began to use Linux. I had a ECS SOM+ computer, this was considered middle of the range and I could install about any distro. Since then many things happened, Linux has to compete with Windows so desktop with heavy graphics like KDE Plasma appeared and this was a new branch of Linux that is stranger to me. I went to Linux because it is more efficient, so more suited to low powered computer, also drivers and software are included.

Hi, Success in installing Q4OS TDE 3.12 32 bits on a computer with Athlon XP processor, motherboard with Nvidia chipset and integrated video, 1 GB ram, ATI Radeon video card (monitor connected to ATI card).
Next step is to install pppoe and pppoeconf needed for ADSL Internet. Many distros derived from Debian Buster lack pppoe, does this situation come from Debian itself ?

Different hardware many times makes a huge difference, particularly with much older systems. Glad you got it working.
