How to modify Login screen to make it look like XP

Tryna make Q4 look like a replica of XP. Would also like to know how to get the side drop on the bottom right to look as authentic as possible.

i have not used it, but it appears they have done the heavy lifting for you. Including all of the icons, fonts, and such.

Yes, but this does not change the log-on screen. I'm looking to create a version of Q4OS that defaults to the XP look, so that users who want/stick with XP have a solid alternative. I need to recreate the complete experience though.

If you have not already done so, first open terminal - Konsole and type

sudo kcmodules --unlock

Then open control centre>system administration>login manager - click administrator mode

You can then alter
Appearance:-
Greeting - Q4OS Professional
Logo Area>Show Logo>/usr/share/icons/kde_windowsxp/48x48/apps/kmenu.png - for example
GUI Style>Plastik
Colour Scheme>Redmond XP
Apply
Font - Set all to Tahoma - Anti-alias OFF - I suggest you stick to size 8 or 10
Apply
Background - tricky - after a think I suggest /opt/trinity/share/apps/ksplash/Themes/Redmond/Background.png
Users - uncheck Show List
Apply

OK - it isn't perfect - but that's a starting point.

You might also want to go to control centre>tde components>session manager
General - uncheck all except Confirm Logout and Offer Shutdown Options
Default Shutdown Option set to Turn Off

If these are single user home machines then I would set them to automatic login - in which case most of this is only going to be seen once in a while anyway.
My advice - do not get too hung up on the fine details - a login box is pretty obvious in its purpose.

Other suggestions to provide a more familiar file explorer experience
Open My Documents
Press f9
Left hand side is a column of icons - NOT the folder tree.
Click the House - Home icon
That should give a tree view of the user home with folders in the right hand pane
Click Settings > Save view profile "File Management"

Has there been any updates to this involving the Login Screen? Would love to see if anyone has been able to make a very good recreation of the Windows XP login screen.
