Add deb-multimedia repository

Do I have to install the proprietary codecs to get deb-multimedia repository available? or can I just add the repo to /etc/apt/sources.list?

Re: Add deb-multimedia repository

You can just add the repo - I've done it that way in one install, however the script provided by Q4OS also adds the relevant entry to unattended upgrades - which is nice as that is my preferred update process.

The instructions on the deb multimedia site also provide the keyring info as well.

Re: Add deb-multimedia repository

Thanks bin, I usually add the repo to sources.list and then add the keyring manually (On Debian) but wondered if there was a preferred way to do it in Q4OS using either the scripts in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ or whether there was another script to add the repos without installing the proprietary codecs.

Re: Add deb-multimedia repository

This command will get the job:
$ sudo qrepoadd --gui
