Security and other updates

Does Q4OS receive regular Security and other updates, kernel, etc. from Debian since it is Debian based, or are they released by Q4OS?

Q4OS does receive Debian updates that are typically done thru regular Q4OS updates.

You need to install Update Manager from the Software Centre (otherwise you'll have to `sudo apt update && sudo apt dist-upgrade` manually from time to time).

If youre using the KDE version of Q4OS, Discover will alert you to updates available for install. Discover has improved a lot and is the default in KDE presently.  With TDE you can also use Synaptic package manager to check for updates from time to time.
