I've just installed Q4OS 64 bit on my computer hard disk for the first time. Following the post-install reboot I do not get any desktop environment, just a command line that says:
Debian GNU/Linux 9 q4os-desktop tty
q4os-desktop login:
When I previously installed it under a VM (on a different machine) everything work as expected with a full graphical desktop environment.
Please help!

Please post a short hardware specification. Try to login to the console with your username and password, type 'X' + 'Enter' on the command line and post back a result.

I think I might have resolved the issue. It seemed I needed to install xserver-xorg-video-intel myself as it had not been installed during the install from CD.
My machine is quite old, core2duo but with intel 82945G graphics, probably not atypical of a machine to take a lightweight disti.
Currently going through the desktop profiler now.
BTW. Thanks for the incredibly quick responses.

Yes, it could be the case.

Your system was released in 2005 but still should work with Scorpion with its present kernel but many users find they end up using Orion instead with the older kernel. Strange it wasnt installed though. Ive got a couple 945g systems and its been a mixed bag, with Orion being the more consistent choice.
