firefox esr
thundrbird
kdenlive
geany

Please tell me the best way

Package manager has all of those. Just did a search on the ones I was not sure of and they are there.

If you just want a single command to do this you can simply type in a terminal the following:-

sudo apt-get install showfoto digikam krusader firefox-esr thundrbird kdenlive geany

Synaptic is easy and straightforward for installing all those apps.

Hi to all,

on somewhere else post I red , I allways have to ad a trinity advice like

$ sudo apt-get install dolphin-trinity.

wright or wrong ??

If YES do I have to ad on each file or does exit a global command?

It would depend if there are TDE alternatives for them, for instance there are TDE alternatives for these packages in the previous list:-

showfoto
digikam
krusader

but not for these ones:-

firefox esr
thundrbird
kdenlive
geany

So the answer is you would have to search for them specifically, but if you use synaptic you could make it easier by creating a custom filter but I cant give specifics as I have not actually used it this way.

Just to note I am glad this has been bought up as I have just performed a fresh install on my main system and realised I have included some packages that have alternative "-trinity" packages... Oh well looks like I'll have to start again if I want to keep my system trimmed down.

Thats why I suggest Synaptic as youll see the alternative Trinity package.

I was writing a software installer a good while back (+18 months) and one of the options I looked at was to incorporate all of the -trinity packages, it was still very crude but I could dig it out from my backups and will post it in the "Tips and Tricks" section once I have tidied it up a little. I think it might be useful for some users and I would certainly use it as a first option when installing just to see if there is a lighter option to the main packages.

Now, how far back to I have to look?

It doesnt take that much tiome and it typically shows up next to the regular app such as k3b and k3b trinity is right there. Dai's idea is interesting.
