Unable to Dual Boot Q4OS alongside Win XP

Good afternoon,

I am currently running Win XP on my PC and would like to install Q4OS alongside the current OS. I've already created the ISO CD and tried to boot on it. For some reason, when I get to the point where it says: press F2 for Setup or
F12 for Utility Partition in old Windows mode, no prompts appeared for the Q4OS. I tried to press on F2 in order to get the IDE-CD-Rom from the Boot Menu for Win XP, I keep getting the message of pressing F1 to retry to boot or F2 for
Setup. That F1 never works and F2 would take me back to the previous Boot Menu screen. What should I do? I have even creates a live CD image and the same thing occurred. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

You will need to boot from the cd-rom device before the hdd, this would need to be set in the bios configuration (boot order) if you set the cd-rom to boot before the hdd then when you have a live-cd (or installation cd) inserted at power-up it will boot from that, when there is no bootable cd it will boot normally to hdd.
After you install Q4OS you will not need to press F12 to get a boot menu, it will automatically collect the information of any other OS's in the system during installation and present them in the grub screen. This is assuming a default installation.

Good afternoon! Thanks for replying! The PC is set to boot from the CD-Rom Device option first, but for reasons that I cannot understand, it only boots that way from the Win XP cd.

Just to level the playing field, use the 32 bit Orion Live CD image.
It sounds like you may have issues with the CD writing side. What software are you using to convert the ISO to a bootable CD?

I agree with bin, my guess would be badly burned disc, you could try using etcher to burn the disc I have heard very good comments about it although am yet to try using it. I use rufus (from windows machine) to burn images and that also works very well.

Definitely sounds like and issue with the cd.  I use Imageburn in Windows and Brasero,Xfburn and K3b in Linux.  Could also have been a defect in the cd itself, but most programs scan the cds after burning.

I also agree with bin. I use Nero for my cd burning. It seems there's a problem with Nero or the drive itself because, it doesn't recognize some of the blank cds and at times, it takes a long time to read the content of the cd. I will try some of your recommendations and see what's up. Thanks to you all.
