I just made this support and chat group so there's not many members yet. Come join us and help others that are new to Q4OS! Share the group with your friends or with people you think may be interested! Come one, come all!

It would be great to have some of the devs in this group!

Whilst I would not wish to seem critical, facebook, twitter etc etc are too ephemeral and quite frankly useless for anything except chitterchatter. IMVHO they do not fit the bill for a mostly technical support requirement.
This forum does the job perfectly well, so whilst I wish you joy I must decline your invitation - thank you.

No worries! I understand. The Facebook page and group I made have links to this forum as well. So for technical assistance I shall redirect people here. Thanks for your feedback!

Agree with bin completely as these forums do the job very well.

From a technical support aspect that is true but social media helps Q4OS get more exposure too. Like on Facebook I have the Q4OS group linked to other Linux groups and have posted about Q4OS in those groups. So when they come to the Q4OS group there's a link there to the forum, plus a link to the main Q4OS website, a link to Q4OS on Distrowatch, as well as how to follow on Twitter. So people that may have never heard of Q4OS will have multiple ways to have access to info on it.

I'm just trying to help promote and get the word out about Q4OS and provide more platforms for us Q4OS users to connect an share on. That's all

The devs should be the ones to set up the Facebook or other social media sites if they choose, to maintain consistency and overall control but thats up to them. Given the many sources like Distrowatch that link back to this site, there really arent any major issues with people finding info on Q4OS.
Q4OS is already very well known and discussed on a number of major tech and Linux sites, so there really arent any issues with getting the word out.
Keeping the focus here in these forums is important but again thats my perspective. We dont need more platforms. We just need to get more news out on more news sites and better reviews to gain more users. Until there is a larger base of users, there wont be enough people to chat on Facebook for the time being.

Im not on staff here nor do I represent the opinions of the members or devs, but I have run and worked with a number of large tech sites and the approach was to keep things in house as much as possible. How the devs approach this is up to them.
If they could get a major sponsor or business association, that would go a long way to accelerating the growth of Q4OS.
