Good evening,
Today I formatted my PC with four boot systems:
- Windows 8.1 x64
- Xubuntu 16.04.2 amd64
- Q4OS 1.8.7 64bit
- Linux Mint 18 MATE amd64
Everything was wonderful, except for one thing: the usb wifi adapter worked fine on all systems except for Q4OS! It was not recognized.
The dongle is one of those most common we found in the market, if I am not mistaken is Ralink RTL5370/RTL5390 chipset ("DONGLE1.jpg" and "DONGLE2.jpg").
It came with a CD drivers, and has some folders with drivers for Linux, but I have no idea how I can install it ("WINDOWS1.png" to "WINDOWS6.png")...
In Ubuntu it works automatically with a "mt7601u" driver (LINUX.png).
Could anyone help me make this dongle work on Q4OS?
I thank the attention!
Greetings,
Rafael

This requires the installation of firmware-ralink for the RT5370 - the package is rt2800usb
Installing that will remove a bunch of other firmware packages - I do not know if that will impact on anything else - as far as I can tell it won't but no guarantees I'm afraid.

I tried the instructions in this link: https://wiki.debian.org/rt2800usb
But it says that my version of firmware-ralink is already the newest...

A problem solved!
I used the suggestion for this topic (I did not find it because I made the search for "5370" instead of "7601"): https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1350
After installing the latest kernel the 7601 dongle worked! Version 4.x of the kernel already has the driver for these usb adapters.
So far I've only tried Q4OS on Raspberry Pi 3... It's great to use it on a real PC to see its great performance as a perfect corporate desktop!
