eliminate password

Is it possible to eliminate the password for everything except when working with admin functions?  I would really like it if I didn't have to type my password after the computer goes to sleep or at start-up.

Re: eliminate password

Startup can be changed by selecting Set Autologin from the welcome screen. I had a quick look through TdePowersave and can't see an option to disable password when woken up but I'm sure there must be an option somewhere, maybe somebody else knows and will (hopefully) let us know smile

Re: eliminate password

I havent been able to find the disable password but in my case I prefer to keep it so that others dont play around with my system.

Re: eliminate password

1. Configure KDesktop>Screensaver>   either uncheck the 'Require Password to Stop' option OR
2. Disable screensaver and just use TDE Powersave to blank the screen after preset time - in which case make sure you have unchecked 'Enable specific screensaver settings'

This - along with Autologin as described above - means you'll have a password free existence except for sudo activity.

Please note that Q4OS has what I consider a very silly approach to the length of timeout on the sudo password. It provides the potential for huge damage from fat fingers and you would be wise to change it. (all IMVHO naturally)
