Hello Q4OS Team,
i have a Problem. I have Q4OS (32Bit) first installed on a HP DC5700 (with Intel onboard graphic). Firefox run and Chromium crash
sporadically. I read in the forum and deactivate the hardware acceleration but nothing changed.
Actually i have a HP 8100 Elite with a Nvidia NVS 300 (i have installed the Nvidia Drivers with the Software Centre). Now
crashed the Chromium an Firefox Browser on sites like facebook.com or amazon.de.
What can i do?

First I would make sure the system is up to date with
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
and then reboot (just to be sure everything is updated although it is not usually essential), then try again and if the problem persists install inxi and post the output of inxi -F here so we can see the exact hardware and some configuration details.
I don't currently have access to a 32 bit machine so I can only test in a VM but so far I cannot reproduce your problem...

Definitely follow Dia's advice re update etc. and inxi
Back in the day I used to look after an office full of DC5x00 machines - built like tanks! Used to fit Nvidia cards as the developers couldn't play games on the Intel GMA 3000.
I don't recall any issues with linux on them - but that was 10+ years ago.
One thing I always did was to open the case and disconnect the floppy drive and the multicard reader - if fitted. That used to cause pain with the linux versions of the time.
While you've got the case open, carefully re-seat all/any PCI /PCI-E cards and the memory chips as well - they could work lose due to thermal movement.

Hello,
i have make an dist-upgrade and reboot. When testing, firefox crashed on youtube.
When the browser crash, the completely system hangs. No keybord shortcut works.

I can't see anything there that looks out of place, although I would use the 64 bit version on that hardware, but that is a choice. I will run some more tests in virtualbox to see if I can force a crash, does the problem always happen when watching youtube videos? or only sometimes or after a certain time?
EDIT:
i have been watching quite a few youtube videos and using fullscreen but cannot replicate your issue, One more question though, are you using firefox-esr from the repo? or the updated version from the Q4OS Software Centre? Or direct from mozilla?

Sometimes or after a certain time, sporadically (Firefox and Chromium).
I have also two Q4OS 32Bit VMs (Virtual Box). There are no Problems.
My hardware HP 8100 is my second Q4OS PC, the first old HP DC5700 have the same Problems.
Can It be the flash player?
Is There an alternative to adobe flash player?
Thank you for the quick support.

Can It be the flash player?
That is always a possibility... but see my next comment
Is There an alternative to adobe flash player?
Not really, it can be a pain, but if I remember correctly youtube uses html5 now (I could be wrong though)
Thank you for the quick support.
You are welcome
Can you let us know what firefox version you have?

Firefox 52.2.0
Chromium 57.0.2987.98
I have just considered what the difference between my VMs and the HP 8100 is.
On the HP 8100 i have ESET Antivirus installed.
I will ESET switch off and test again.

Firefox doesnt want to use Flash by default and Chromium also defaults to HTML5 just as Firefox does. Facebook,Youtube and Amazon use HTML5 now so shouldnt be an issue with the Flash player.
You could try removing the Nvidia drivers and use the Nouveau default drivers instead and see if that helps with the 8100 Nvidia NVS 300. Intel GPU shouldnt be having any issues on the other system, curious. It could also be a heat issue with the Nvidia NVS 300 as its typically a heatsink only card and when your on sites with more graphics or prolonged use it could cause crashes at times.
I also see your using both the Intel audio and the Nvidia audio which may cause a conflict. The driver for the Nvidia audio you show is the Intel driver but that should be running off the Nvidia drivers, again curious. If your using the Intel audio disable the Nvidia audio or vice versa depending on your needs.
I doubt the ESET Virus is the issue.
Heres some info from Mozilla about Firefox not responding or hanging, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fi … responding
I know some users have reported hangs and not responding with Chromium as well so you may want to research that as well.

Now i installed version 4.0.85.0 and everythink is fine.
Thank you to all for help.
The linux Q4OS community is great.

Good news, and it goes to show how much useful information can be obtained from the changelogs
