I think it'd be a good idea to keep Q4OS with the lastest graphic drivers for Intel.

I think the latest debian version of the intel driver is available from backports, but I imagine it is not considered the "stable" version so cannot really be included with the stable release, I am mostly using Scorpion now which has version 2.99.917+git20161206-1 of the xserver-xorg-video-intel package. But there may be other information in this regard that would need to come from the devs.

It depends on what hardware your using as newer drivers may not offer anything and could create unintended issues.
Even if youre using very recent hardware its best to check on the most recent drivers to make sure there arent any issues before you install them.

All video drivers in Q4OS are fully inherited from the Debian base. You can check Debian graphic cards wiki here https://wiki.debian.org/GraphicsCard

Right now I'm using an old laptop integrated Intel chipset, so there might not be much of an issue. I just had the thought that, the newer the driver was, the better. After reading what they answered above, I can see that I might be wrong about that one.

If its an older laptop say 2006, the newer driver wouldnt help you much and in fact, Intel is offering drivers that are specifically designed for older chipsets like the i965 for instance.
With older hardware, rarely is the newer driver better and in fact the newer driver may not support your older chipset/GPU at all.
