Re: A simple small update notifier

Just installed the Version 1.21 and it works great. It already installed three updates and no issues, very nice and light.

Nice touch with the Dai icon for the apt updater when  I added it to my desktop.

Re: A simple small update notifier

I'e had it runnng on my systems and I haven't had any problems since it was last updated, but I know it's not for everyone so I don't get offended if it's not used, hopefully when I finish version 2 it will be a "different beast". smile

Re: A simple small update notifier

The other night the Apt Updater reported no updates but Symantec showed three files for install.  Thats the only time Ive seen that happen, otherwise its been working very well. Ive been noting when the updater checks for updates.

Re: A simple small update notifier

This can happen in the time between Apt being updated and the timer of Apt-Updater checking the status (1 hour by default). This time interval can be set differently to suit the user, but there could always be a certain amount of time before Apt-Updater will show available updates.
I could look into finding what signals are available for when apt has updated, but I'm not sure if I could latch onto it...

Re: A simple small update notifier

Its not a big deal, but something I noticed right after Apt Updater made a check, then I immediately went to Synaptic and found updates were available.

Re: A simple small update notifier

So you clicked "Check updates Now" from the system tray icons context menu and it reported no updates and then synaptic said there were some?

Re: A simple small update notifier

I can't reproduce it here, I can introduce an update and it has never failed to find it...
Did you happen to notice if the Apt-Updater icon in the system tray had a red cross in it?

Re: A simple small update notifier

My seniors using donated systems really enjoy it as they really never cared for the more ornate update notifiers.
