[Solved]Konqueror failed to move, copy file between partitions on Q4OS

I don't know is this a bug or a default disable features from konqueror, TDE or Q4OS fault to begin with.
This is the "major issues" that cause me to drop q4os distro hopping countless times.
I was observe your distro since 2015 till now but still you didn't even fix this issues. So now it's time for me to tell you.
Why wasn't anyone mention about how to fix this thing? If windows users, linux noobz find out they'd definitely rant for sure.

If I unable copy files to my 2nd partition then I can't use Q4OS more longer. This never happen to any other distro at all.
So if this is a bug please fix it. If this is not a bug then please make some tutorial
how to enable konqueror to move, copy files to other partitions.
If I need to install some package to make it work please tell me which packages.

Regards

Re: [Solved]Konqueror failed to move, copy file between partitions on Q4OS

Let's start by saying that both I and I suspect a large number of other users of Q4OS have not seen this error. I regularly copy and move files between drives and partitions - no problem.

So, let's start with the favourite first request for more information please.

The screenshot you have provided seems to show an error copying a deb file from one drive to another.
One drive would seem to be a USB connected device of some sort - or a partition on one - /media/sdb5
The other would seem to be the home partition of your installed system /home/user/Documents.

The error message says:-
Access Denied: Could not write to /media/users/Storage Linux/filename.deb

So, are we to assume that you are trying to copy the uget.deb file from your installed machine to /media/sdb5 ?
If so, then you need to be copying it into a folder, not the root of the drive though that depends on how that drive is formatted? NTFS, Fat32,exFat,ext4?????

Puzzled as to where the /media/users/Storage Linux fits in - please explain the configuration.

I'm sure we can help solve your 2 year old puzzle very quickly if you are able to provide facts and information that will assist us.

Re: [Solved]Konqueror failed to move, copy file between partitions on Q4OS

Here's the clue:
-  I install from "Q4OS pure" from desktop profiler because "Full install" takes too long than 2 hours to finished.
idk does full install have this issue on konqueror? But Q4os pure option have for sure.
-  /media/sdb5 is my ntfs partition none of any folders inside that drive that I can copy to
There's no root directory in there /media/sdb5 is mount my ntfs drive
only I can copy files from sdb5 to my q4os partition.
   other /media/sdb? & /media/sda? with ext4 worked though but ntfs doesn't
-  Even you install other file manager like thunar, caja, nautilus still you can't copied to ntfs partition.
-  This never happen on my Debian xfce or other xfce distro at all I can copied to ntfs partition normal.
This is why q4os push me away to run other distro that works fine.

idk why q4admin ignored my thread is this unfix-able bug or something?
I can't do q4os review properly if I tripped on shoelaces with this awkward issue.
You wouldn't want to see me to make both criticism mixed with positive review don't you? it'd be awkward.
That's why I need to clear this issue so I can make a clean positive reviews about q4os without criticism.

There was no additional information about it. We would need more detailed description for us to be able to check a subject. Please put as exact as possible procedure to reproduce an issue next time, like you already did in post #3. We will check the issue and post a result here a bit later, sometimes a response could take a time.

You are welcome to make a review, would you post a link here when available, please ?

Before applying the Pure profile user is notified:
"Recommended for highly experienced users. Keep installed Q4OS operating system, you will be free to setup anything by yourself."
There is a clear notification, that user will need to take additional actions to get system fully working and customized.

We would recommend you to apply the Basic profile at least. In any case, we will check an issue described in #3.

Re: [Solved]Konqueror failed to move, copy file between partitions on Q4OS

Sorry I've to pick "Q4OS Pure" on purpose as I mention before. The 2 choices above was take time too long than 2 hrs to finish.
So I've to pick this 3rd choice as a shortcut the time. If because "Full" & "Basic install" worked but "Pure" doesn't
So that's mean some ntfs or vfs packages on "Pure Install" is missing that'd make sense.

However, I've a good news to report after install these packages:
fuse, ntfs-3g, thunar, policykit-1-gnome  for test it doesn't seems to work yet
So I've install gvfs & xfce4 & finally get it to work.

sudo apt-get install gvfs
