No. It does not apear there too. I can see it there neither. I can not find the installed application in any folder. Could it have something to do with the live version of Q4OS ?

Please try to logout/login and report back, if Firefox appears in startmenu.

yes it works, after logout and login, is that normal ?

No, it's a bug, we can confirm that now. We will take a focus on that and try to solve it within the next minor Q4OS update. However it's related to live-cd only, real installations are not affected.

at my test I had also problems with opening any youtube files via firefox, system was hanging, and could not do any thing anymore, I had to poweroff my computer, every time as I started to view a youtube file, could you please also check that , if you find time.

We are just investigating this issue, and it would be helpful, if you would post some additional information.
- Did you noticed this issue in virtualbox, another virtual machine, or on a real hardware ?

We are not able to reproduce this issue, all youtube videos play fine in firefox. Please would you specify the file or link you are not able to open ?
EDIT: Which version of firefox did you install, the FF version-50 from Software Centre or FF ESR version-45 from repositories ?

I am using or testing 1.8.1 live version, and I am using just the install application button und choose the firefox from the software center list. All other things do automatically happen. It was the last version 50. and if I tryed to open any you tube file the system was hanging. all processes was hanging.

Does this mean you are trying to install into a live-cd environment? Or have you installed it to your machine from that iso?

I am using my laptop HP-Compaq 6720s with 1 GB memory Intel Celeron (r) m CPU 1,73 Ghz.
I am using a CD with Q4OS 1.8.1 live ISO file at it, and insert it to my laptop and boot from it. then try to install Firefox from CD.

I would guess that the system is running out of memory as the system is being run from ram and you are then adding firefox to it, and then trying to watch youtube videos, all with just 1Gb ram... Do you have any swap partition on your hdd?
Offline
Interesting point. Is it generally possible to use a swap partition at HDD with a live cd ? If yes . I would test it. please let me know how.
Offline
I haven't tried it myself, but you could create some free space on your HDD and format it as swap and hopefully the live-cd will just find it, but if not openn up gparted from the live-cd and select the swap partition, right click and select swapon and it should become available. Like I said I have not tried this before but theres no reason it should not work, it will be interesting to see if it solves your issue.

Plugging swap from terminal:
$ sudo swapon /dev/<some_disk_partition_formatted_as_swap>
Then you can run 'htop' in terminal and check, if swap is available.
