Re: [Resolved] Flash & pepper flash

Firefox doesn't use pepperflash, it uses adobe flashplugin, the version 11.3 is the latest Linux version.

Re: [Resolved] Flash & pepper flash

Thank you team
when I install pepper-flash with synaptic there is an error message in terminal but i can't read it or record it it's too fast.
Then Firefox uses the "old" flash player and seamonkey don't have flash at all.
I test with opera and chromium, don't work.
I test with Vivaldi that's work fine.
I read on web the 1.5 version change something to work with the new path install of pepper-flash.
I'll try to find it another time and post it here.
The last month all works finds...
That's not very important I use seamonkey with official flash all days, but sometime not enough ...

I hope you understand my frenchie english smile

good day all
aldrik

Yes, now we can confirm the 'pepperflashplugin-nonfree' package is broken, it's obvious Debian bug. The package 'pepperflashplugin-nonfree' downloads the Chrome for Linux Debian package (.deb) from Google and extracts the Flash PPAPI plugin (libpepflashplayer.so) to make it available to other browsers system-wide.
The package pepperflashplugin-nonfree is broken since Google changed the method of distribution of the Flash plugin with Chrome 54 for Linux; libpepflashplayer.so is not directly bundled in the Debian package anymore.

Since pepperflashplugin-nonfree currenlty fails to install the plugin, it should not be used anymore and either 'flashplugin-nonfree' from Debian repository or no flashplugin should be used.

A bug report is available on Launchpad https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … ug/1632870

Re: [Resolved] Flash & pepper flash

@aldrik
As far as we know there is no resolution at the moment. This issue affects all Debian based distributions including Ubuntu and others. Unfortunately, we are not able to resolve the issue on our own, so we can only suggest you to not use Pepperflash, until it's resolved by Debian developers.  As a workaround, you could now use Adobe flashplugin in your browsers, just install 'flashplugin-nonfree' package and set it as an add-on in the browser. Sorry for the inconvenience.

We will watch Debian channels for the resolution and let you know as there will be any available.
