Good Day!
I have performed a fresh Q4OS installation at my mother-in-law`s notebook, and had some errors during installation process.
First, prior installing I have booted from Live DVD and used GParted to partition target SSD and format partitions.

Then I have launched installation wizard and selected mount-points.

And then I got this error - In order to continue please select root (/) file system.

OK, I understand, that I have not told Installer to format partitions, but why should I format them again, if they already have been formatted by GParted?
Finally I was able to continue installation process only after choosing to format them again by installer. Partitions were formatted twice...
Second error - when I clicked on SSD name, installer showed error (didn`t catch) and crashed.

So I had to launch installation wizard again.
After Q4OS installation, I ran Full featured desktop profile, and option to translate system to Russian language. Everything were translated except k3b-trinity. So I had to install k3b-i18n-trinity manually.
I have made Live System from installed Q4OS using Systemback. After booting from Live system, everything worked fine (even Skype) except Cromium browser. Chromium did not launched at all, neither from desktop icon or start menu, nor from terminal. Here is a terminal output: http://storage3.static.itmages.ru/i/16/ … fc7417.png So Live system is without working web browser...

... why should I format them again, if they already have been formatted ...
Installer needs to ensure itself, that the target partition is formatted correctly. So it requires selection of a filesystem to which format partitions to, as it cannot be safely recognized.
... when I clicked on SSD name, installer showed error (didn`t catch) and crashed.
The error arises not on single, but double click to disk name/header, this is known Q4OS bug inherited from the upstream software. It's already on our internal bug list.
... everything were translated except k3b-trinity ...
Yes, it will be fixed in the next Q4OS version.
Chromium did not launched at all, neither from desktop icon or start menu, nor from terminal ...
No idea what Systemback made to the filesystem. Looks like the file '/program_files/google-chrome-q4/bin/google-chrome_wrapper.source' has been removed accidentally.

Chrome and Chromium are not the same thing.
Which one does the Q4OS Chrome installer bring in?

The Q4OS Chrome installer brings Chrome for 64bit machines and Chromium for 32bit. There are particular settings and config files shared by both browsers in Q4OS. We know, it's not the right solution, we want definitely split installers in the future.

You are right. Today I have created another Live system using Systemback, and folder /program_files does not exist on it. For some reasons this folder is not being saved at all! Maybe because Systemback save only predefined folders from /. And folder /program_files does not exist on another Linuxes. I will report this bug.
So bin, Systemback does not work correctly in newest Q4OS...

Possible solution is copy this folder on separate flash drive and after system restore manually copy it back to /. Or copy it to /home/user folder before creating backup, then include it to image using Systemback settings, and after system restore manually move it from home folder to /.

I haven't used systemback properly, only a little basic testing some time ago, but I'm sure I recall seeing an option to add user defined directories to the iso that is created. I cannot say for sure but it could be worth looking in to.

I see you have raised a bug https://sourceforge.net/p/systemback/di … /01324d61/
The use of underscore in directory names should not be a problem, but you never know.
Just for fun, as root you could create a folder in / with an underscore. Then run Sytemback and create a restore point. Open the restore point folder and see if both your folder and or program_files have been created there. If they're both missing - and you've not switched any options in Preferences or Settings then it may indeed be a bug.
I have found the developer normally responds very quickly to queries so hopefully you won't have log to wait.
