The USB adapters TP-Link ....

Hello,

I tried to install the following on an HP Pavilion DV8000 (AMD Turion 64):

q4os-6.9-x64-tde.r1.iso or q4os-6.9-x64-instcd.r1.iso  both install perfectly

The USB adapters TP-Link TL-WN823N or TP-Link Archer T2U TE/T2UV3

are not recognized by the mentioned versions of Q4OS.

The original Broadcom card is not working

For tests with MX-25.3_Xfce_x64 and MX-25.3_Xfce_ahs_x64, they are
recognized immediately,
Tests were performed using other  live distributions.

Regard,

If you have a cable ethernet connection, connect and update your system first:
$ sudo apt update ; sudo apt full-upgrade
Reboot > click > welcome screen > more options > hardware info > drivers > and click Broadcom drivers to install > Reboot
The Broadcom drivers will be fixed in the next Q4OS release to install out-of-the-box.

The original Broadcom card isn't working; that’s why I wanted to install the TP-Link USB adapter.

So you say the hardware of the Broadcom card is broken? If not so, see below:

Try this and post back, if broadcom started to work.

Re: The USB adapters TP-Link ....

The original Broadcom card is dead, not recognized, no signal, and I can't revive it.
Hence the need to use the TP-Link USB adapter.

To get the Broadcom card back to work, try installing the b43 or wl driver. These are drivers that are used in Linux operating systems to make the wi-fi network card work.

sudo apt update
sudo apt install firmware-b43-installer b43-fwcutter
