Unfortunately, Garmin doesn't provide a Linux version for any of their software.
Q4OS machine: Samsung R519 - Pentium T4200 2.0 GHz - 4 GB RAM - 500 GB SSD

You might be able to use a VM or Wine to use it on Linux..... https://linuxvox.com/blog/garmin-express-linux/

From what I can see Garmin Express may work under WINE but will fail to actually detect the Garmin device.
Your other choice is to install something like VirtualBox and create a windows vm which you'll then need to configure to detect the Garmin USB device.
Or - dual boot Windows/Q4OS

"You might be able to use a VM" Garmin Express is exactly the reason I still have a virtualbox Windows VM.

Thanks for all the tips.
The problem is that the VM solution takes up a lot of space. Wine seems to be the best solution in terms of space, but unfortunately, it doesn't work with old guides. Maybe someone will take a closer look at this guide.

Don't forget Bottles for linux also. but in most use cases that does not change your hardware. SO if you need ports to function like windows it does not change the problem. I recently ran into this similar use case needed a usb port to communicate with a HAM radio via chirp. You could try Docker + Winboat which I have had working on Q4OS TDE. Again that does not fool the kernel or hardware that I'm aware.
my resort = map + compass
Or APRS works well. gotta be a licensed radio operator though.
Good luck, keep us posted.
