Hi i followed the steps in the Q4OS for Windows setup and it seems to be stuck in the first reboot. I installed it and rebooted the pc everything seemed to be fine it started booting q4os with a black screen with a bunch of processing text on the screen. Now it is stuck in this mode and the last line produced is:
”[ OK ] Reached target graphical.target - Graphical Interface”
This is an very old hp pc and has no GPU if that is relevant.
Some of the lines have [ OK ] while others have [ FAILED ].
Sorry if i haven’t explained it very clear and feel free to ask questions. I am very much a noob when it comes to all this stuff and this is my first time trying something like this.

Welcome to the forum ![]()
Would you post a brief HW specs and lines that failed, please. A screenshot would be the best option.
We guess, it's not an issue with Q4OS setup for Windows, but with Debian Linux hardware incompatibility.

Yes i’ll link an image of the screen it gets stuck at. I tried force restarting the pc and now i can choose to boot q4os or windows. Windows works like normal but everytime i try q4os like i said it loads but then it doesn’t come any further than the image. There is also an image of my HW specs aswell.

The HP Compaq dc7700p Ultra-slim Desktop (USDT) was primarily launched with Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2) in September 2006 with the integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3000 (also known as Intel GMA 3000) graphics chipset.
My 2009 Compaq Presario CQ61 notebook with a WDDM 1.1 graphics chipset, which is later than yours, had serious difficulties with Andromeda x64, which I fortunately resolved with some modifications in the terminal.
I don't want to be too pessimistic about Andromeda, but I'm afraid your desktop might certainly run better with Aquarius Trinity x86.
But hope comes last, let's see if the Support Team can help you.

Wow thanks for all the info. I guess i’ll wait and see what the support says first. I might go and try the trinity version instead if all else fails. If i’m honest a big reason i did this version was because i could install it alongside windows since i am very much a beginner at this stuff im a bit intimidated by switching off windows entirely and not being able to get it back on the machine?

Yes, we have this one on the task list, however it will take some time. In anyway, we will post some output here.

Andromeda is only available in 64-bit, while Aquarius is also available in 32-bit by downloading the ISO CD, which you can use either with a USB stick with Rufus or Ventoy, or with a DVD R/Rw if you have a DVD burner.
You can also choose the Plasma or Trinity desktops with both Q4OS Andromeda and Q4OS Aquarius, but for older hardware, the Trinity desktop is recommended because it's lighter.
The first piece of advice I'd give you is to replace the original 80 GB mechanical hard drive with a 128 GB solid state drive. Unfortunately, prices have doubled or more in the last 6 months, but you can find a 128 GB SSD for less than €30.
In the meantime, since I understand you used Q4OS Andromeda x64 WinSetup.exe within Windows 10, you can uninstall it and try Aquarius x64 WinSetup.exe, which has an older kernel and may work; if not, simply uninstall that as well.
Here's the download link: https://www.q4os.org/dnt_download.html?target=21 (q4os-winsetup-5.8-r3).

Thanks again! I tried doing the winsetup 5.8 that you sent and got basically the same issue sadly.

Hi again i just wanted to post here again to update on my progress. I researched enough on how to create bootable usb:s and cd:s to try and have a go at (Q4OS Andromeda, Trinity, live - 64bit / x64 ... 1418 MBytes) and i formated it on a usb stick i had with rufus and thankfully it worked! So now i have Q4OS installed on this pc and it's working very well. The only problem so far i've came across is that when i use the konsole the pc freezes and somtimes logs me out. It seems that the konsole is making the pc work really hard for some reason.
And Q4OS TEAM feel free to ask me anything if you still want any info that can help resolve why the windows installer didn't work for me initially.
Here is a link to the hardware specs with a lot more details if it helps: https://imgur.com/a/0gAdCAl
