Are there any performance deficits from installing Q4OS with the Windows installer when compared to a standard USB installation? Non-techie friend of mine who lives far away wants to try Linux on an old laptop (dual core, 6gb ddr3, hard drive), and running a .exe file would be very easy. Perhaps MX Linux XFCE would be better than Q4OS Trinity for a Linux beginner with this hardware? I know that both can use MX Tools.
Also, there are two different revision dates on the user manual (dqa014.html), one at the top (10/2022) and one at the bottom (02/2026). Might also be a good idea to add to the user manual whether Q4OS installed with Windows has performance differences

No, there are no performance deficits that would be noticeable to a human.

Where do you see the 10/2022 manual ?

Hi,
I have the old version of the Q4os for windows installed on one of my PCs. Do I need to uninstall it before installing the new version, or can I install it on top of it?
Thank you and have a nice day.

We strongly recommend uninstalling the previous version first. However, we are working on enabling the installer to support multiple Q4OS instances on a single Windows installation. This feature should be available in a few months.

Thanks. I have no problem uninstalling (I have enough backups), but I wanted to be sure that was best.
