I have carried out multiple installs of Q4OS over a good number of years.
What I noticed is a difference in the time it takes to install a second DE - depending on which De used as a base.
By way of example - both the KDE & Trinity versions take about the same time to install from start to finish - so both are quite quick.
But, whenever I start from a Trinity base then select to install KDE 6 xxx series - it takes longer to install KDE-6 than the other way around.
Of course the installs themselves have an initial difference in size, so that accounts for some of the extra time -
-- but it shouldn't take nearly 20 + minutes extra to install KDE 6 on the Trinity base.
The other way around - (adding Trinity to a KDE base) is a fraction of the time.
In my mind, all things being relatively equal, the install time should be the same or very close to it.
I am on a fast connection - so there shouldn't be that level of lag. But there it is.
Not a criticism - just an observation. If anyone has an insight or explanation - I'd be interested to read it.
Cheers

Yes, KDE Plasma takes more time as the package manager needs to download, extract, install and configure more packages. Plasma is simply much larger then Trinity.

The setup time depends on the target hardware, it's quite possible.

Since you install from live media the primary desktop environment is preinstalled. The setup amount of the rest of profile is very similar for both, Plasma and Trinity.
