q4os upgrade

Hello! I really like their operating system, and I'm using it instead of Windows. My question is, why is there no upgrade program for the new version, why do I have to reinstall the system for this, along with all the programs I've used so far?

Re: q4os upgrade

The major upgrade is possible under Debian conditions, but not recommended. See https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=4323

@willmenn: You may want to refresh on a what a rolling release schedule vs a fixed one means in the Linux world...

Re: q4os upgrade

Thank you for the comments, but I still don't understand. This is natural for UBUNTU and other Linux systems. I am satisfied with the current system, but I have already installed the newer one on another machine, which has options that I would like to see on the old one. I only have DEBIAN 11, and I have already encountered that it was only suitable for 12 (drivers, add-ons, etc.). My other machine has Debian 12, and I have not found any problems with it so far. That is why I am asking because I am very satisfied with this OP system in all respects, and I do not want to switch to another, but I feel that the developers (I give them all my respect) could also think about this. By the way, I'm not a genius on the subject, I'm just a beginner (65) but I may have some inappropriate questions.

We don't understand what is natural, what do you mean exactly ?

Please specify what exactly should we think about. It's not quite understandable for us from your post.

Again, the upgrade is possible under conditions of Debian. Upgrading Q4OS is the same as upgrading the plain Debian. We don't recommend it due to reasons stated here https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=4323

If someone claims that major-to-major upgrade of Debian or Ubuntu LTS is safe, that's simply not true. We cannot recommend it in good conscience.
