Hello! I was hoping someone here may be able to help me.
I'll explain my problem. I'm running Q4OS Debian 12 32 bit, I have a cd drive on my laptop. When i insert an Audio cd i get a window titled audio cd - tde daemon, it gives me 4 options.
mount
open medium system folder
and do nothing.
when i select open in new window the screen displays a list of tracks on the disc. Now here's where the problem lies. When i try to open the disc in audacity or play it slowly i get this error message
"mount:/media/cdrom0: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sr0, missing codepage or helper program, or other error.
dmesg(1) may have more information after failed mount call"
I downloaded a app called Clementine. That works fine. I simply click on Devices then i choose the disc and it plays.
I'd love to get it working with the other two apps i mentioned.
I just thought i'd add this, iv'e tried a few different cd's

Hi crosscourt, thanks for getting back to me. I had a look but there's no reference to my problem. It's strange i downloaded two cd rippers, one worked the second gave me a similar error. as i said i can browse the disc and see the contents and i can load and play it with Clementine.

Audacity isnt a cd ripper its an audio editor. Have you tried K3b which you can install with the k3b-trinity package, that can do cd ripping.
