Q4OS not shutting down

Hi. I'm having a little trouble with Q4OS debian 12 32bit. Basically it's not powering off when i click the shutdown button on the menu.
I love the way it looks and feels but this is a deal breaker.
Is there any solution for this problem?

Re: Q4OS not shutting down

Is the system frozen?  Can you shutdown by holding the power button?  Does it not power off, everytime you try to use the shutdown button?

You havent told us much about your hardware, including how much ram youre using.

- What exactly does it do ? Messages, etc..
- Does the command "sudo poweroff" work ?

Re: Q4OS not shutting down

Sometimes it just takes a couple whole minutes for the "menu" to show up.. (like when you click poweroff and the menu shows up asking for what we wanna do, shutdown, restart, etc..)

Re: Q4OS not shutting down

Hi OK Q4OS team, I have noticed when I try to run a command it looks for the path before the file. So instead of typing poweroff I have to type in /usr/sbin/poweroff. Theaanitkid, the menu responds quickly when I click on it. It's just when I click turnoff it logs out and it hangs there. It just brings up text saying something like reboot : poweroff and that's it.

So your Q4OS setup seems to be broken in some way. The command runs as is within the correct default Q4OS installation.

Please post a screenshot.

Does it shut the system down properly ?

Re: Q4OS not shutting down

Okay well sometimes nothing happens even after clicking shutdown or restart in popup.. then the only way to shutdown is by

sudo shutdown

i don't always have these issues, only very few times

Re: Q4OS not shutting down

Hi member I missed your post. I'm not at home at the moment. But I'll try holding down the power button when I get home and I'll post the result. Thanks for getting back to me.

Re: Q4OS not shutting down

Ok Member holding down the power button for a few seconds works. other than that It just logs out and i get a screen output saying stuff, the bottom line just says something followed by poweroff.

Re: Q4OS not shutting down

Ok strange thing, i added a desktop icon with "sudo /usr/sbin/poweroff" and it works. Is there any way of modifying the existing shutdown button?

Re: Q4OS not shutting down

Ok that's a bit strange. As i said i created a shortcut on the desktop using sudo /usr/sbin/poweroff which worked just fine. I also added the /usr/sbin/ path and guess what! the regular shutdown button is now working.

That's definitely strange.. could it be a corrupted installation?

Re: Q4OS not shutting down

Driver issue could cause it but agree theasmitkid, might be a corruption problem, as he mentions he installed Q4OS 4 or 5 times.
