Downloaders for Linux / Q4

Hi All,

What's the best Downloader for Linux (Q4OS) for YT and other video sites?

I just tried using ArrowDL (v4.0.1 - www.arrow-dl.com), but couldn't seem to get it installed properly to launch it. Downloaded and extracted it in the /opt folder.
  - Changed permissions to make it executable and ran /install.sh
  - Tried launching it. Nada, doesn't launch. So ran /uninstall.sh.
  - Has anyone used it with Q4? If so, what steps did you use to get it installed?

Any other good ones out there?
(Would prefer a GUI app instead of having to use the console, eg. - as with YT-DLP)

Re: Downloaders for Linux / Q4

You could try "Video downloader" from the Q4OS software center. It's a flatpak "com.github.unrud.VideoDownloader"

Re: Downloaders for Linux / Q4

Being low on space, would prefer an option with just the application as opposed to bloated Flatpaks or similar.
BTW, speaking of the Q4 SC, would it be possible to add a column that displays the size of each application? Is that an easy item to code in and include?

Thanks Q4T

Re: Downloaders for Linux / Q4

The size of the dependencies would have to be calculated for each item and all items would have to be recalculated on each installation. It is possible, but a bit slow and heavy. We will consider different options.
