I have noticed from time to time when something is deleted (Move to Wastebin using konqueror) the trash icon doesn't show any content, I just deleted some pretty big iso files from downloads folder and noticed my conky was showing no difference to filespace available. I looked in .local/share/Trash/files (and info) and there were the files! I have noticed this before but took no notice as they were pretty small files and they were out of sight. On this occasion approximately 8Gb of space should have been freed up and wasn't, which is the only reason I went looking for them. Is this a bug? has anyone else noticed this behaviour?

@Dai_trying
We will investigate the issue and put some results here a bit later.

Thank you
If it makes any difference I was running 1.4.7 64 bit installed from live-cd, no unusual settings / changes.
@cc I have noticed it a few times, but it was only as these were big files that I though I should mention it, I was just clearing space on the hdd. Your vigilance is appreciated

@Dai_trying : I don't have the issue you mentioned. But I did install q4os from the install image. May be, it's an issue related to live-cd installs.
If its a permission check fail, try executing 'sudo chown -R $USER:$USER /home/$USER/.local/share/Trash' from the command-line.

Hi akts and welcome,
I don't have a problem removing files manually, I was just reporting the fact that it didn't always do what it should, I wouldn't have thought it a permission issue as it does not happen all the time, but thanks for the reply and advice

Yes I've noticed this a few times too. Also occasionally when I delete a file the file icon stays visible, as though it hasn't been deleted at all, and then when I try to delete it again I get a message saying "no such file". Weird.

I think I remember seeing that too, but it is probably due to existing trinity bug about konqueror not refreshing. Hopefully the TDE team will get that one sorted

It could just be most people either don't really notice, or, as the file has gone from their file manager they don't think much of it. I only reported it when I was looking for changes that didn't happen, the first few times I did notice files didn't appear in wastebasket I didn't do anything as it seemed like a non-event and I just presumed the files had been directly deleted.

Yea very odd, I will try and keep an eye out if it happens again.
