Hello!
I installed Q4OS 5.8 Aquarius version and I can't update it. The system indicates that there is an update, it also indicates which files and options, but it cannot connect to the base to download it.

Please be more specific. How the system indicate the update, post error messages, etc.. A screenshot would be helpful.
Online
There is no error message, the download simply does not start. I did not have this problem with Gemini. The same problem occurs on several PCs.

Well, now we understand better. Please close the window of Discover application and run commands in terminal:
$ qrepolist
$ sudo apt update
and post the output here
Online
Thank you, I will send the result.

Now run in terminal:
$ sudo apt full-upgrade
That should proceed all updates. If it ends up with an error please post it here.
Next run Discover and check what it says.

Thank you, that's how it was updated. I installed the new loader as well. I hope it will work normally from now on.
Thanks for the help!

Yes, it should. You are welcome.

Discover has issues at times, but its certainly better than it use to be. For those who dont want to use the terminal, you can close Discover and use Synaptic package manager, to do your updates. Ive never had any issues with Synaptic in this situation.

You can install Update Manager from the Software Centre. It will check automatically from time to time whether upgrades are available and enable you to accept them if you want.

As we said above, you can use Synaptic package manager to check for updates as well at anytime and Discover can also do this depending on the version of Q4OS you are using.

I find that using "sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y" works every time.

@willmenn
We recommend you to install Update manager from the Q4OS software center. It will show notification icon in the system tray as soon as any updates are available.

Nothing wrong with CLI but installing update manager to notify and using package managers like Synaptic are still a good option.
