Hi.
Q4OS Aquarius, Trinity, install-cd - 64bit / x64 is over 800 MB. Doesn't fit on CD.
Naturally I then grabbed a DVD-RW disc, but the burner (Nero) says cannot burn on DVD, needs CD-R/RW. Funny.
I of course started at first with a USB stick but gave up as my only known unused USB stick fresh from wrapping did not work (Windows did not recognise it as a functional drive, just assigned a drive letter for it). I know I can go through my sticks and clear them out, and I will, eventually...
If now I found an issue with the release files, then it was a lucky accident
I did my best to search the forum on this topic (CD image, burn etc) but didn't find anything matching.
Any wise words?
Thank you and have a nice day

Ive got Q4OS trinity on a DVD RW+ with no issues using either cdburnerxp in Windows or K3b in Q4OS KDE and had no issues at all.
Id try another burner app other than Nero.

Maybe some setting needs to be changed to allow for overburning -- since the standard CD-ROM capacity is about 650-700MB...

Is it possible that the CD burner drive youre using doesnt support DVD RW+ or -. My DVD drive has issues with DVD RW-.
Try CDburnerXP in Windows and it should work.
In Windows, go get Rufus 4.7 and it will setup the USB drive and copy Q4OS over.

Thank you all.
I've got a slim USB BD M-disc capable burner, quite fresh, haven't really used it yet (my computer has a slim DVD burner inside).
I created a new registry value NeroCDBurning=1 (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer) to disable Windows Explorer burning features, but that didn't seem to fix it.
Found one post on Reddit that says something about power calibration stuff with Nero. That feels similar. The drive is doing something without asking after inserting empty DVD+R, the Windows Explorer is halted (because one drive is busy, classic Microsoft!) and when taking DVD+R out after two "rounds" of doing nothing, it has two circles burned. I have a photo of it, if someone's interested.
I uninstalled Nero, which crashed the Windows Explorer (no biggie, Task Manager etc.). After that I had no issues, empty disc from the same series (hp DVD+R) was inserted without glitch and ImgBurn (which I've had installed for years) did the job, no extra questions asked.
I can openly say I don't like that a software bundled with a burner I chose for serious archival use, is huge, has advertising and asks for registration each time I run it. Fun fact: Windows told the installation size of Nero was 666 MB! No more. Thank you!

I never use the bundled software when you have other options like Imgburn and cdburnerxp, the latter I prefer, as it has no hiccups at all. Imgburn has had issues over the years.
The reason they include Nero is to let you use it and convince you to buy it.

For what it's worth, have a look at this post.
