Re: Boot error messages

Simple framebuffer issue is probably not worth worrying about as its graphics driver related.

EDAC pnd2 error is about detection of ECC memory which more than likely you dont use so probably can be ignored.

i915 failed to probe ispcon, relates to the graphics driver and detection of HDR over HDMI, probably can be ignored.

Re: Boot error messages

Hi, I don't know if these commands will help you.
[ 1.238158]  video=efifb
[ 9.390585] intel_mmu=off
You have to load it in GRUB, but it would be better to investigate with (journalctl -b) to be sure of the cause of these errors.
You have to give us more details about your laptop, especially your sound card.
They are harmless errors for the system, as long as you can use the machine without problems, you can ignore it. The same thing happened to me with a sound card and the DMA graphics chip.

Re: Boot error messages

Part of the issue is, hes running on a Asus Chromebook spin which originally had Chrome OS installed and the bios of these systems arent the best. They typically have low end processors, soldered on ram usually 4gb and limited feature sets/graphics. Chromebooks have issues with sound quite a bit.

Take a look at this link that might help,  www.quantulum.co.uk/blog/debian-on-a-chromebook/

Re: Boot error messages

Thank you, I guessed most of it was ignore-able but if I could eliminate them I would like to.

Re: Boot error messages

In some cases you wont be able to eliminate them. Some of my older hardware, dont have features that are probed by newer OS and still show errors when booting, but the system still runs perfectly fine. The other issue is, its a Chromebook, with a specific bios that may not be entirely compatible.
