I wanted almost all programs suggested in the "Full featured Desktop" profile. It would be nice to have a "Select All" button, then "Install" to get everything. Now I had to select a program click "Install" and wait for it to be installed 10 or 15 times.

Even i like the same idea with you (that user able to choose what they want & don't), also about more basic essential default preinstalled app (bluetooth, browser) than 2x file manager that not so friendly to use, but... it is what it is... we just a user, only the dev have the Right! Btw, u still here (active in forum)?

Still enjoying Q4OS, still doing a small monthly donation and regularly checking the forum although I'm not at all into the technical stuff anymore.

That is absolutely not the truth!

This is a perfect match for custom desktop profiles, see https://www.q4os.org/dqa016.html
Just get the snapshot profile from your system completed and configured, modify profile to your needs and save it as a small file/profile. Anytime you install Q4OS just apply that profile and that's it. You can even apply any profile on an already installed system.

Yes that is cool feature thought, Although it will require twice installation, 1st for preparing g custom then 2nd for purpose use later?. From what I've noticed from OP wanted is that user able to choose by selecting what will include and which don't in pre-installation process.
For me it's all doesn't matter since I can custom how it will be to what I want, just for fresh noobs (e.g ex windows user) that doesn't really knows yet how to do next after.
Thanks dev for your respond
