Pure Love Q4OS

I've been into Linux for about 7 years now, and I've switched back to Windows because I could never find something that fit my wants (not needs, but wants).

Small story:
I purchased an old Fujitsu ESPRIMO Q1510. It had Windows 7 x32-bit on it, and it wasn't that performant. Most drivers were not found and nothing wanted to install. So i decided that it was time to try Linux. Sadly, I've failed to find ONE distro that could handle and fit the mood/era of the machine. I've also installed NetBSD, OpenBSD and FreeBSD on it, but again, nothing worked correctly.

I decided that there was no hope for that machine.

One day, I was reading an article about the best compatible, yet modern, OSs and Linux Distros compatible with i686 and Q4OS was the second on the list right after Debian. I searched for it and based on the pictures on Google, I decided that it was the perfect Distro for the machine.

As I booted the USB and faced the installer (which is unbelievably easy to use - Great job on that), I completed, and rebooted.

The screen, went black, green loading text started appearing, and I got so excited!... For it all to fall apart when the machine decided to not finish the loading.

I decided it was time to quit as it was 3AM by that time. Next day, I rebooted the machine to check if maybe it was just the first boot doing its thing...

And that magnificent authentication screen popped right onto my face. I loved every bit of it.

The system booted as expected and I got greeted by that little loading screen, where it checks every part of the Machine. I loved it.

The system worked flawlessly. It detected my WI-FI chip, it handled 1080p resolution perfectly, and it just ran really smooth!

End of Story.

Now, I said all this, but for what? Simply to Thank the Maintainers/Devs. I cannot thank you enough for your work. Q4OS is one of the best digital things I've experienced in my life. It reminds me of my childhood, and just has small details in it that no one notices that I ADORE.

A simple example, is when you have a .c file, and you put the cursor on it, it shows you the code. The animations when you get into a folder, etc.
I truly love every bit of it. I cannot describe how heart-warming this Distro is. Thank you. Truly.

And just to make it even better, I am writing this message for that same old Fujitsu x32-bit machine, who wouldn't be alive now, if it weren't thanks to Q4OS' save!

I am even thinking about installing Q4OS on my main machine, which is a Monster compared to this Fujitsu, and I don't have any problem fixing the issues that might come at first, as this Distro is worth every bit of it.

Kindest Regards, and with deep appreciation,
Zer0o.

Re: Pure Love Q4OS

Ive got Q4OS installed on both much older hardware and on my most recent Ryzen 5 system and havent had any issues at all. Given its Debian roots, it handles things just fine including my more recent, printer and graphics card.
