Hello guys, I'm presently dealing with a stack of old text and database documents from my archive which have complex messes of CARRIAGERETURN and LINEFEED in odd combinations. I need to replace these with regular tab structures so that I can import them into modern spreadsheets.
It would be possible but awkward to use SED or similar to automate this process. Given the complexity of the source material I'd much rather use a visual tool that can interactively replace the CRs and LFs in their various combinations. Does anyone have such a thing?

Geany was recommended to me elsewhere. It's brilliant for the purpose described above, and available in the repo as a near-instantaneous download.

Maybe hexedit or hexedit-trinity.
