Q4OS-5.6 in VBox cant load guest addition

Hi there,
i recently made a vdi of Q4OS-5.6 in VBox  7.1.2 r164945 (Qt6.5.3).
When i boot it up and update the guest addition the update/install failed.
how do i fix that?
I took a snapshot of that to show the error...

Re: Q4OS-5.6 in VBox cant load guest addition

I tried to update the guest addition in the guest system (via menue "Geräte") several times but my shared folder (from windows host) is still unaccessible.
On startup of the guest system (Q4OS) it says: "VirtualBox kernel service not running". The vboxadd-setup.log in /var/log says: "kernel modules and services were not reloaded".
If i manually try to execute autorun.sh from the VBox_Gas_7.1.4 (in the meantime i use VBox 7.1.4) i get the message in the picture i attach to this post.
i want to get access to my shared folder. But the guest addition is not running...
Is there a way to install the guest addition again and running ?
Can anyone help me out ??

Why don't you install Virtualbox additions from the Software center ?

Re: Q4OS-5.6 in VBox cant load guest addition

By exident i came along that i installed the "Virtualbox Additions" from the Software Center of the distribution (Q4OS-5.6) in addition to the guest addition of VB. So i had two of them:-(
I deinstalled that and the error message on startup (VirtualBox kernel service not running) has gone. :-)
But access to my shared folder ... nop

Re: Q4OS-5.6 in VBox cant load guest addition

If you have installed supplied Vbox additions over these from Software centre, we would guess the system is messed somewhat and couldn't be fixed easily. The two additions conflict with each other.

Re: Q4OS-5.6 in VBox cant load guest addition

i executed the GA-uninstall script in /sbin and got my SF back. That works so far...
Then i installed GA from the software center and my SF still remains... :-D
But the clipboard and/or Drag&Drop still not work...
Thats ok for me. Its not activ during work. Only 4 testing...

Thank you vm!!

Re: Q4OS-5.6 in VBox cant load guest addition

I don't wish to detract from the thread, just to say I prefer virt-manager over Virtual Box. It seems to be more agile, especially when it comes to choosing what host hardware to access, such as thumb drives. I have two USB 3.0 ports on my CoolerMaster Silencio and choosing USB 3.0 in Virtual Box never worked for me. The graphics also appeared poor. Running VMs in virt-manager looks and feels like running a bare metal install. But don't expect to play games inside any VM! Also I would advise if you are sticking with Virtual Box to use .vhd as opposed to .vdi.
