I just had a look at the registration page (been a long time since I last saw it) and there appears to be very little (if any) checking on new users, I would guess this would be at least part of the reason we are getting regular hits by spammers recently. I do not know much about FluxBB, but is it possible to set a little bit more of a check on new users before allowing posts? I know the posts are removed very quickly (I always report them when seen) but it would be better not to have them. I'm sure there must be some who have used this software and could possibly offer some snippet of wisdom to keep our board free from these posts. Any ideas?

I know it isn't really a big problem, it's just that is seems to be occurring more frequently.

I think between you and I, we cover 2/3's of the day, so just need one more vigilant person in the right timezone who checks in regularly.

There are several methods for fluxbb to get spammer's life harder. We want to enforce forum registration rules in the near future, but it is a bit more complex task, we have to choose the right security options and balance these settings the proper way.

I was going to mention PhpBB as I have used it before, and it is very popular. Although It is just another thing to take the q4os team away from what really matters, so maybe watchful eyes will have to suffice.
