This is from booting the cd-rom. First the Q4os install menu and both options lead to an error. Says it cant load something and stops.
cr-rom version 4.12 for i368.
Is there any other way to install Q4os trinity i368? Bios will not boot from usb. Currently installed vector linux.

I tried taking the hdd out, putting it into another laptop and then install on that. But failed, as it turns out none of my laptops have a matching hdd slot.

Same problem on different laptops but with same install medium (CR-ROM?) and same HDD? I suspect either a hardware problem with your HDD or a bad install medium.
Please check first the integrity of the .iso you have downloaded (see the md5sums at the bottom of Q4OS download page) and the integrity of your install medium (see the .README files on it).

We are not able to reproduce, q4os-5.5-i386-instcd.r1.iso boots fine on our hardware. Please post a brief specification of your hardware.

I'm not sure 128Mb is enough, even for q4os Trinity...

256MB of RAM is the bare minimum.

From these specs (and others) I see that the Toshiba Tecra 8100 supports up to 512 MB of SDRAM. You might upgrade the RAM if thou think it is worth.
