Adding some custom software to the installer

Hello,

I wanted to create my own custom q4os ISO.

I want to install a bunch of extra apps as part of the install, basically run a small .sh script.  Is there a way to add my .sh script to the installer?

thanks
Fred

Re: Adding some custom software to the installer

We would recommend you to use S4-snapshot to create live media from running system https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3624

Re: Adding some custom software to the installer

Thanks, if I install firefox plugins/add-ons, will they also be included in the snapshot?

If not, how can I get those included?

Also, any small customisations like mouse pointer size, etc, are they included in the snapshot?

Re: Adding some custom software to the installer

When I ran the installer for plasma ide, there seems to be a bug with the wifi.  I had to cancel rather than connect to wifi.
Everything else went smoothly and I just connected to wifi
Is there a way to cancel the wifi connection screen during the install?

A few more quesitons:
can I preset all the selections for the installer like
- desktop profile
- swap hibernate
- encryption with a default password
- user credentials with default values
- location
- not have the Q4os welcome screen launch on startup

I would also like to start several applications on boot, how can I do this?

Its a bunch of questions in one post

Thanks for your help

Re: Adding some custom software to the installer

A clarification to the above

I have a second laptop and want to install the exact same setup on it, without running the installer.  So it will be different hardware.

I like to reinstall everything once in awhile to get a baseline install in case I screw something up.

Thanks

Please describe in more detail, it's not clear what happened. We are not aware of wifi connection dialog during install.

Re: Adding some custom software to the installer

I downloaded q4os-5.4-x64.0.r3.iso
burned it to usb, rebooted, ran the installer

When I came to the wifi network connection gui, there was no way to select the wifi network, so I just cancelled and then connected after installation.

I have a carbon x1 5th gen lenovo thinkpad laptop.

Did you run Calamares installer ? Did you click on installer icon on the desktop ?

A screenshot would be helpful. As far as we know, the Calamares installer has no wifi connection screen.

Re: Adding some custom software to the installer

After burning the usb I clicked on the installer icon on the desktop.

It was a different gui toolkit for the wifi gui, it didnt look as good as the rest of the installer, it looked like an older gui widget, maybe from Trinity.

Re: Adding some custom software to the installer

How can I stop the wifi gui from popping up during the install process, I will connect to wifi before running the installer from the live ISO instead.

Re: Adding some custom software to the installer

Just boot live-cd, connect manually to a wifi from the gui, and then run the Calamares installer. Calamares will not ask for network connection definitely.
