I love Q4OS and its retro XP look!! Fantastic! My other Linux distros allow me to load Gnome Effects to get Compiz type desktop effects, specifically, Magic Lamp, Broken Glass and Wobbly Windows. If I could just somehow get those three effects on the Trinity Desktop Environment I'd be a happy man!!
Any thoughts? Ideas? I don't want to change from TDE because, like I said, I Iove the XP look and feel of it!
Thanks in advance for any and all replies!

just do in a terminal:
sudo apt install compiz-trinity
Optionnaly you can do : sudo apt install compiz-tde-trinity ("This package contains a window decorator that uses TDE to provide a look and
feel similar to that of the default TDE window manager.")

Thanks!!! I chose to do the "sudo apt install compiz-tde-trinity" and I found the slot in the menus where I can change the Window Manager to Compiz so yeah for that.. However, I don't want to sound dumb, I just can't figure out where to enable the various effects? I've looked at all of the options under Control Panel and I looked for a Compiz app but no luck either way.. Can you help an old man out here? Thanks again!!

Well, I must admit I never used compiz... For the moment I have no access to my personal computer, I will try compiz this week end and will report what I found

I used to be able to get them to work on my Trinity installation but recently I've just been getting blank title bars and window decorations when enabling the Compiz decorator. Anyone with any luck with this?

The thing about Compiz is that it uses a lot of resources and can increase ram usage substancially. Its not a great choice for TDE and older hardware.
