We can confirm that this is a Q4OS bug as we have identified its root cause. The problem occurs on systems with Plasma Wayland display server, while it does not appear on Xorg server systems. We are now able to reproduce it so we can start working on the fix. Thanks @Spiky_Friend for the valuable reporting.

We have compiled a fix. It will take effect as soon as the package q4os-swcentre will be updated in repositories.

Hi, is the package q4os-swcentre already in the repositories? I performed a fresh install of Q4OS Aquarius 5.4 Plasma Basic version on an old Chromebook and it's working fantastic! I installed the Update Manager from the Q4OS Software Center app - it installed successfully but I cannot find it anywhere in the Start Menu. Also tried using the Search but didn't find it.
Kindly advise. Thanks!

Also, how do I change the timeout when restarting or shutting down? The default is 30 seconds and I want to change it to 0 seconds so it is immediate. Thanks.

With Plasma on Q4OS 4.12 it is found in the Appliction launcher when I type the first letters of "Update Manager". It is located in Applications > System.
The executable file is
/opt/program_files/q4os-update-manager/bin/updatemgr.exu
Could be the same with Q4OS 5.
Note that Update Manager is run periodically by the system, so you don't have to run it manually yourself.

Thank you. I was able to run the above command-line program and it did run Update Manager.
However, I'm still not seeing Update Manager under Applications > Systems. Also not finding it when typing "Update Manager" in the Application Launcher search panel.
I'm running latest Q4OS 5.4 Plasma Basic version.

Update manager is active only if Plasma Discover is not installed as Discover takes care about updates. You could also run:
$ /opt/program_files/q4os-update-manager/bin/um_config.exu
to edit configuration. It has no entry in Plasma menu so far. only in Trinity control panel.

Got it, thank you!
Can the timeout for the restart and shutdown be changes from the default 30 seconds to something lower?

Go to System settings > Desktop Session and then uncheck that show button in logout screen section. Then you won’t get the confirmation screen. If you want to change the timeout:
Edit file /usr/share/plasma/look-and-feel/org.kde.breeze.desktop/contents/logout/Logout.qml Edit property real timeout: 30 to property real timeout: 5 if you want 5 seconds.

Got it, thanks again!
