Q4OS Aquarius rocks on old Aus T100TA

Windows 10 was so slow and irritating on my old ASUS T100TA that I started looking for an OS that would install, recognise the hardware and be fast. It has a 64-bit CPU and 32-bit OS with 2G RAM. After trying to install at least 15 different linux distros (Linux Lite, Mint etc.) I finally found Q4OS Aquarius, downloaded and installed the 32-bit version which comes with Trinity desktop environment. I was shocked that it actually instantly recognised all the hardware, including sound, is really fast, and I have had absolutely no issues. Wow! My old computer has finally been resurrected. Excellent Distro to save old computers from the junk heap. Thx guys.
I rather like the Trinity desktop.
My only question is I would like to try the Plasma desktop which can be added via the desktop profiler in the welcome screen as an additional environment to Trinity. I expect it will be slow due to limited hardware.
Can I un-install it if I am not satisfied?

Yes you can, however you will need to use terminal commands.

Thx, but I am not that Linux savvy.
Can you guide me on what terminal commands I would use to un-install the additional (Plasma) desktop environment.

Just run in terminal:
$ sudo apt autoremove *plasma* *sddm*
$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure tdm-trinity
and reboot

Thx. You guys are so quick and responsive. Kudos.
I will go ahead and install Plasma as an additional desktop environment and give my feedback.
Thx again.

Re: Q4OS Aquarius rocks on old Aus T100TA

I said I would update on installing an additional desktop environment alongside Trinity on Q4OS. Tried Plasma - don't think my old computer hardware could handle it because it froze everything, Tried LXQT - Yuk looks ancient and slow. Tried XForce - looks even more ancient. IMO Trinity is so much better in both appearance and compatibility right out of the box with my Asus T100TA. Everything works with Trinity. It is extremely fast, responsive, intuitive and I must say, it looks elegant. I am now a Trinity and Q4OS fan and sticking with it. Kudos to the team. Thx for your help along the way.

Hey zmiles001,
Was the camera working as well?

Is there any device or function not working which you can phrase?

I have tried to install 64bit KDE with 32 bit bootai.efi I found from github. Live usb with rufus worked but it did not able to complete installation...

I will try 32 bit as well to see if it works...
