Just installed the latest version of Trinity on my 5 year old HP laptop. Everything works out of the box. Just one little thing: brightness is set back to maximum every time I reopen my laptop. I usually have it around 30%. It keeps jumping back to 100%. Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks in advance.

FWIW, you can quickly tone down brightness by scrolling your mouse wheel over the power status tray icon...

That's handy. I like that. Also works scrolling on the touchpad while the cursor is on the icon.

You can create a startup script to set your brightness. Some experimenting will be necessary to figure out what works for your hardware/software combination. On my laptop I can use command "sudo echo 5 > /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness" to select a dim setting. It accepts numbers from 0 to 15.
