Hello!
Every year i give e new try to Q4OS, this time current 4.12 Gemini, 64bit-Trinity.
After having installed, configurated and arranged everything nicely and flawlessly yesterday, i booted it up again today - and the system is unusable:
- it's not possible to mount any (Win-NTSF) Data partition in konqeror
- its even not possible to access an inserted USB-stick (which appears correctly in konquerors folder tree) to store error-messages and screenshots on it)
- at some point i got the message: The TDE media manager is not running
- no internet access any more
- The icon of the network-manger (in the taskbar) has changed from gray to green,
- clicking on "new connectopn" -> nothing happens
- the shutdown-menu has changed: the entries suspend and hibernate are gone.
The last things i installed yesterday (via synaptic) were lxtask and stellarium (if i remember well)
inxi -F doesn't give me any hint to a cause.
A strange and sobering experience...

So, try again next year -- I'm joking, of course!
Note that current version is Q4OS 5.4 Aquarius, although 4.12 Gemini is still supported.
Help us help you:
- Did you install Q4OS from an installation media downloaded from www.q4os.org? Which one? Did you verify the checksums?
- You don't describe what you "configurated and arranged", so nobody can say if something there could be the cause of your problems.
- Personally, at least with Plasma which is my DE, I'm not confident at all in Konqueror.
- I don't use TDE, so I don't know the meaning of a grey or green network manager icon.
- Is it possible that your WiFi is hardware or software disabled? Please post the result of $ sudo rfkill (despite its name, that will not kill anything).
- How could you install lxtasks and stellarium without Internet connection?
- Maybe $ inxi -F (or better, $ inxi -Fxxx) could give someone else a hint to a cause.

If you have a smartphone, you can take a photo of your PC screen using smartphone`s main camera, then upload a photo to Image hosting, for example www.postimages.org, and finally post a direct link to your photo here. Of course, the photo should be good quality, and all text on it should be readable.
For example: https://i.postimg.cc/zvzTsXN4/IMG-20231218-222239.jpg
This allows you not to use your PC`s internet connection, only your smartphone`s internet connection for uploading the photo to Image hosting.

Hello again,
could anyone of the Gemini-TDE users please tell me if the icon of the network-manger in the taskbar (usually a small gray "globe" if not connected to the internet) ever has become green?
And to the spcialists: Which log/error file to analyse when Konqueror warns "The TDE media manager is not running" while trying to access a USB-stick?
Many thanks!

Yes, a retest proved: it's the installation of Stellarium (via Synaptic) after which (after reboot) the properly running system (4.12-1-n1) is screwd up so badly in the way described initially.
