Hello Q4OS members and experts,
In the Plasma desktop, which is great, i am not able to see wireless connections.
When i logoff and switch back to [default], i assume the trinity desktop, then the wireless connection is available, right below in the taskbar.
Question: Why is the wireless network not available in the plasma desktop, or do i have to install a widget or application to have this installed?
Thank you so much for all answers and hopefully solutions.
Br,Michael

Hello,
right click on the arrow in the dashboard, and choose configuration miniatures box, you can add the wireless connection to the dashboard , by editing the préferences in the submenu input.

Hello Fred, thank you so much for your support and answers. I can access the page you attached, only in the list there is no option to show the wireless connection. i upload a screenshot of my settings in: ibb.co/jWXKncx or
In Trinity i can see the wireless connection (just like on windows, right below on the taskbar), but on plasma it is a not available. Also in the widget there is no option to add. I download the app LinSSID, but this one show only the available networks in graph, but no option to make a connection.
hmm, i am not allowed to post links :-(
"You are not allowed to post links", why i don't know

I think the applet you need to add to the thumbnail box in the systray configuration is : NETWORK

Thanks for your support Fred! In the widgets i have, there is no Network option to choose. Only have network speed as an option to add. Also the network settings i have in my configuration menu don't give me any options to change the WiFi network, see below: I installed the laptop first with the trinity desktop. But when connecting to an external monitor i had some issues. Then i read about this and the solution is to change to the plasma desktop. So i did this and the monitor issues are solved. Also the plasma desktop is great. The only thing is that i can't see my wireless network connection since i switch. When i took my laptop to a hotel, i find out that the wireless connections are not available in plasma, so i had to switch back to trinity to configure the wireless settings. When i turn back to plasma the connection is then still available. So there is a way to manage, only strange that i don't have the wireless connection settings in plasma :-(

When I tried in q4os on LXDE, I had issues because the TDE-network would not automatically start up on boot, so I had to manually add it to the list of start up applications. That is a process to do but I used an app called stacer to do it. You may also have to go into TDE-network manager and click enable wireless (under the option "deactivate connection"), under LXDE i had to do that every boot. I now stick to Trinity but I have customized it so it is not so ugly lol.
I am using a Dell d430 so we may run into similar issues and they may use similar components.
