Hello I have a problem.
When I connect the usb memory to the computer I can't open any file... But when I copy those files to the hard drive I can open them without problems. What is happening? Somebody could help me?
I am using Q4OS Trinity
Thank you.

Hiyall,
I think you need to format your USB stick as ext4. Remember to back up the contents before!

Don't format. NTFS/FAT32 is fine. I had also faced that problem with Gemini (Trinity), even during playing media through VLC. Can't remember how it got resolved.

This may well be the issue you are describing https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3826
I thought this had been fixed....or maybe it's in the next version in Q4OS 5.......

In addition to not being able to open the files that I have on the usb stick, I can't change the name of these files, I can't delete them, I can't do anything,
Does anyone know the reason? Do I have to change some type of permission? Or what do I have to do?
Thank you

You have;
1. to copy/paste the data to somewhere safe.
2. Format the USB stick to ext4.
3. Copy/paste the data back on to the stick
4. Try 'reading it again
PS: if it's music files, many audio programs are only able to read/play the music if the files are on the computer and then sent to the audio software.

No, it's not good advice, don't do that. You should have read/write permissions on different regular filesystems. Try to check, if your USB device could have some write protection switch.

I have check it with another computer (with windows 10) and the usb stick runs ok, I can open all files whithout problems, so i don't know what is happening.

@ivandebcn
Insert the USB stick in and run in terminal:

It seems, you have encountered known Trinity bug https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3826 as @bin mentioned above. It should be fixed in the new Trinity 14.1.0 version, what will be available in the upcoming Q4OS 5 Aquarius edition.
