What do I need to do to see my phone in Konqueror?
Offline
For MTP support in konqueror install 'kamera-trinity' package:
$ sudo apt-get install kamera-trinity
Another recommended app for fast data transfer between Android and Q4OS is 'gmtp':
$ sudo apt-get install gmtp
See documentation http://www.q4os.org/dqa007.html#android

Installed kamera-trinity, it works but I don't have permission to write on device.
'writing to camera is not supported'
gmpt hangs.
I use pcmanfm as temporary solution
documentation - thanks! missed that.

similar situation when I tried to remove flushplugin. It's tied to firefox.
metapackage problem?

'krusader-trinity' depends on 'q4os-desktop' package, it's one of required packages. You can install doublecommander still, no need to remove 'krusader-trinity'. Similarly 'flash-plugin-nonfree' depends on q4os-firefox. If you want to remove flashplugin, you have to uninstall q4os-firefox too. Instead of q4os-firefox, you can install Iceweasel without flashplugin.

'one tool per task', remember?

How do you guys browse files on your android devices?
Install GMTP:
$ sudo apt-get install gmtp
Reboot, connect your device with USB cable. Set MTP protocol on the Android device. Launch GMTP from start menu, click "Connect", wait a moment to connect the device and browse files. Please read http://www.q4os.org/dqa007.html#android
If you will encounter an error, you are welcome to ask help. Please describe exactly how to reproduce it.

gmtp hangs:
$ gmtp
** (gmtp:15788): WARNING **: Error retrieving accessibility bus address: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.a11y.Bus was not provided by any .service files
Unable to read MTPZ public exponent from ~/.mtpz-data, MTPZ disabled.
Device 0 (VID=0fce and PID=5171) is a SONY ST25i Xperia U MTP+ADB.
Android device detected, assigning default bug flags
anyway I want to copy files from/to device in regular file browser.
MTP works in pcmanfm-qt but pcmanfm-qt itself gives me more problems (icons, mime types, ark integration).
I don't remember how I managed double-commander to work last year. I navigate to /run/user/1000/gvfs/ but I find nothing there.

You should install 'at-spi2-core' package:
$ sudo apt-get install at-spi2-core
Which Android version does your device run on ? If it's older then 4.2, it's not probably supported by the Debian Jessie MTP library.

Android 4.4

Follow these simple instructions and you should be good to go, but when connecting to the phone be patient as it can take some time to connect.
