Hello guys, this is the second of two small irritating queries. I don't expect anyone to know this, but it is possible that some printer maven out there on Q4OS will recognize the problem. If not, I'll register on the CUPS forum.
I'm using a spreadsheet and a laserprinter to print bank details onto postcards. Laserprint output on the standard paper setting is poor, probably because the thick card doesn't have time to heat up enough to fuse the toner.
I'd expect office-type software to include print options including a slow-speed setting for heavy card, but no such option is available from LibreOffice, Gnumeric or Okular (the last being because I figured I could make a PDF and print from that).
Has anyone got a workaround? I'm perfectly happy to print from the command line if anyone knows how to work those options.
Best, NP

With LibreOffice, it is possible to choose a media type (provided the printer is able to do it, see screenshot).
In the print dialog box click on the Properties button.

Thanks, Hchiper. I re-checked LibreOffice after reading your reply and can confirm that, although I have a 'Properties' button like yours, the corresponding dialog doesn't include any options for different paper thicknesses or card stocks.
I will mention that the printer in question is an HP P2015d, which has several feed trays and is designed to work with non-paper media. I had problems with the machine a weeks back when I was trying to find a way to print onto card-sized media -- only the obscure hagaki or 'Japanese postcard' format worked.
For my purposes, the CUPS printer software is half-written.
NP.

HP provides a tool to install linux drivers for their printers; visit https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing. If you have the proper driver installed, I hope the right media will appear in the list.
