Unable to mount USB

On inserting a usb drive I'm getting an error :

Unable to mount this device.
Potential reasons include:
Improper device and/or user privilege level
Corrupt data on storage device

Never had this problem before, and it's not the stick because I have 3 and am getting the same error with all of them.
