Hello guys,
I like to use Evince as a PDF reader.
In Q4OS version 3.12 r3, using Evince 3.30.2, I am encountering a problem to saving the default display view configuration for PDF files.
I open a file, maximize Evince, zoom in 100% and then click on the option "Save current settings as default", but it's not working...
Whenever I close Evince and open another PDF, it starts minimized at 74.9% zoom...

This bug is old - or rather it keeps re-emerging.
I found by that installing gvfs-backends allows evince to do what you want.
Check to see if there is a folder ~/.local/share/gvfs-metadata/ it probably won't be there.
sudo apt install gvfs-backends
Run evince and do the settings thing - I found it worked on my test system.

Oh, man!
Going back to active in Q4OS I come across this annoying bug from Evince, and, without being able to solve it, I came here on the Forum and saw that I had posted this issue myself in January 2021 and you had already answered and I hadn't even seen it...
Your solution works fine! Although not a definitive issue solution as it doesn't actually open all PDFs maximized at first, but after I open a certain PDF and maximize it, if I close it and open it again it opens maxmized. It already helps me a lot.
So, 1 year and 3 months later: thanks!
